Shirley TASA benefit on April 17 04.08.2011 On April 17th, UCSD's TASA (Taiwanese-American Student Association) will be hosting a "Mr. and Ms. Formosa" Pageant, with all proceeds going to the ETA4 Taiwan program. Some information: The Mr. and Ms. Formosa Culture Pageant will be crowning one male and one female contestant as one who best represents Formosa, the name originally given to Taiwan, meaning "Beautiful Island" in Portuguese. This event was created in hopes of spreading Taiwanese culture as well as enriching those with interest in Taiwan, matching TASA's mission statement perfectly. This event is intended to be a philanthropic event, with any profits raised being donated to ETA4.
